Sajdah of Tilaawah – Prostration due
to Reciting the Qur’aan
There are 15 places of prostration in the Qu’raan.
It is Sunnah and not waajib to make a prostration at these
15 places.
They are marked by:
1.
A symbol in the margin with
the word ‘sajdah’ in Arabic
2.
A black line above the
words in the aayah
3.
A small black symbol at the
end of the aayah and before the aayah number

Du’aa to say in prostration:
1
|
How perfect is my Lord the Most High
|
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأَعْلَى x3
|
2
|
My face has prostrated to the One Who created it
and made its hearing and sight by His Might and Power.
|
سَجَدَ وَجْهِي لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ
وَبَصَرَهُ بِحَوْلِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ
|

|
O Allah! Record for me, a reward with You for it, remove a sin for me
by it, and store it away for me with You, and accept it from me as You
accepted it from Your worshipper Dawud
|
اللَّهُمَّ اكْتُبْ لِي بِهَا عِنْدَكَ أَجْرًا،
وَضَعْ عَنِّي بِهَا وِزْرًا، وَاجْعَلْهَا لِي عِنْدَكَ ذُخْرًا، وتقبَّلها منِّي
كما تقبَّلتَها من عبدِكَ داودَ
